There have been times in my life when I have felt like everything was going my way. Times when everything seemed to fall right into place. I can remember, in those times, praising God with a thankful heart. However, I have also had times in my life when it seems liked everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I can remember, in those times, tears of pain and sorrow. I can remember days and days of calling out to God to hold me up, because I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it on my own. Life has its ups and downs, but I do know one thing to be true, God is there, all the time, acting in ways that I can never quite understand until much later. It is always easy to see what God was doing when we look back, but so hard to see what God is doing in the actual moment.
Read: Psalms 16, 17, and 18
Questions to Consider:
1. Looking back at your life, when has God been your fortress?
2. How has 2020 been for you? How do you think you will look back on this year?
3. Looking back at your life, when was a time when you felt like you were on top of the world and everything was going great?
Activity for the Day: Find a rock and carry it around in your pocket for the rest of the week as a reminder that the Lord is your rock, in whom you find protection.
