My Rock

When I was a little girl I remember sitting on the pew at St. Paul’s UMC in Ocala, Florida and the pastor talking about something about inviting Jesus into our hearts.  For whatever reason I had the impression that if I did this that something amazing would happen, that something would change immediately.  So, I squished my eyes closed, I said a little prayer, and waited, and waited, and waited. I waited for something to change. I waited to feel different. I waited for something amazing. But nothing happened, I felt like the same Kristyne.  I was disappointed.  Only later, much later, did I learn that I was only at the front door of a relationship with Jesus.  I had only dipped my toe into the water, there was so much still to come, to experience.  My little prayer was just the tip of the iceberg.

Read: Psalms 19, 20, and 21

Questions to Consider:

1.    When did you first meet God?

2.    What can you do today, this week, this month, and this year to grow deeper in your relationship with God? Spend some time thinking about these goals, write them down in your journal, make a commitment to meet these goals.

Activity for the Day:  For more about the name of God click here to watch a BONUS video (great video, highly recommend).  Go outside for a walk and notice the craftsmanship of God.  Consider the human need for divine forgiveness.

Blessings,
