My Light

When I was a little girl I was afraid of the dark and the monster that lived under my bed.  For me the most painful thing that I had to do each night was turn the light off at the wall and run across my room and jump into my bed.  I just knew that the monster was going to reach out from under the bed and grab my leg just before I reached the safety of the top of my bed.  Of course, once I made it onto the bed I still had the darkness in the room to worry about, however, I was lucky when it came to the darkness because my mother always provided a nightlight to light up the darkness.  I might not had been able to check and see if there was a monster lurking under the bed, but I was always sure that there was not a monster lurking in the darkness of the rest of my room, because the nightlight made the room just bright enough for me to see everything.  I knew I didn’t need to be afraid of the darkness in my room as long as I had my nightlight.  Of course the monster under my bed, well that was another matter, and a story for another day.

Today in the video I am going to focus on Psalm 27, so when you read, read all three Psalms, but pay particular attention to Psalm 27.

Read: Psalms 25, 26, and 27

Questions to Consider:

1.    What were you afraid of as a child?  How did you overcome your fears?

2.    What are you afraid of as an adult?  How do you build your trust in God?

Activity for the Day: The Psalmist invites God to “come and talk”, spend special time today in prayer with God.  You might even consider writing your prayer in your journal.

Blessings,
