Wasn’t our Sunday worship wonderful?
It was so special to come together to worship as the larger community of faith after months of separation and I found myself filled with Holy Spirit joy!
I think a lot of that was going on in the early church. People were coming together around Jerusalem, big things were happening and the people were full of Holy Spirit joy. But God had so much more for the church than just a big group of church people growing with each other…. God wanted the church to move out into the world and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the whole world.
Today we find ourselves reading an important story in Luke’s narrative of the beginning years of the Christian church. There is so much happening within this story, but the main thing is that God is beginning to reveal that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not limited to a certain group of people but is for the whole world. When the angel of the Lord takes Philip to the Ethiopian eunuch God is declaring once and for all that His radical love is not meant to be hoarded by a group of people, but that His love is for ALL people.
While it feels so good to come together to worship and celebrate with each other, we must never stop there. If we have received the great gift of God’s love through Jesus Christ, we are called to take it to the world around us… Our neighbors, our family, our friends, even our enemies. As you read the story of the Ethiopian Eunuch and reflect on the questions below consider making a commitment, like Philip, to be used by God to share the Good News with the world around you.

Questions to Consider:
- Has God ever put it on your heart to share the story of Jesus with someone?
- If He has, how did it go? and, if He hasn’t, why do you think that is?
- Make a list of people you connect with regularly who are not part of a Christian community and begin to ask God for an open invitation to share with them your story of faith.
Prayer: God of redemptive love, as you have loved me(us) so much to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with me(us), help me(us) to be open to be used as your vessel to share the story with others who have not yet heard. Amen.
