Lenten Study – March 9

I don’t know about you, but I had a pandemic garden.  Toby and I dug up a tiny part of our backyard and planted cucumbers and green beans.  We did our best to grow that little garden.  We made sure the area we dug up had just the right amount of sun and shade.  We planted the seeds with care.  We watered it if it didn’t rain enough.  We pulled the weeds from it.  And we just watched it—day after day.  At first, I would stand there and wonder if those tiny plants would come up out of the soil.  After they did, I would stand there and wonder if they would grow beans and cucumbers.  When they did, I wondered if they would taste good.  When it was all done and the garden had given us everything it had to offer, I was glad we had done it.  We learned a lot tending to that little patch of soil.  As I read the scripture for today, I was reminded of that little garden we planted during the pandemic.  Take a moment to read the passage for today, and then I will see you in the video.

1 Corinthians 3

Reflection Questions:

  1. Can you think of a time when God has grown a seed that you have seen planted?
  2. How might you become more grounded with God in your daily life?

So What Activity:  Today go outside and work with God to plant a seed in someone’s life.  This can be done in many ways.  We often forget that we can shine the light and love of God best through our actions.

Blessings,
