Lenten Study – Tuesday, February 28

Mark 2:1-12

Have you had a time in your life when you needed friends to carry you along?  If you are like most humans, you have not just had one of these times you have had many.  The thing with friends is that you must cultivate them.  You cannot expect them to grow unless you give them what they need.  One of the biggest things that friendships need is time.  You must commit to sharing your time with them.  You must “do life” together.  You must share in both the good and the bad.  You must struggle through disagreements and rejoice in the small things.  You must be there even when they don’t want you to be there, even when you don’t feel like being there.  You must give your time.

Do you have four friends that would pick you up and take you to Jesus?  Do you have one who would do that?  If the answer is yes, then keep on working to make those friendships stronger.  If the answer is no, it is okay, but now is the time to change.  I highly recommend that you join a small group.  Many people at the church can tell you about their small group and how it has changed their lives.  And there are people at the church who will help you find just the right group for you.  It just takes time.

Who needs you to carry them?  Think about this as you pray the Way of Peace Prayer today.

The Way of Peace Prayer: Jesus, I choose to follow your Way of Peace.  Lead me to one person that I can love, give hope, and bring your peace today.

Blessings – Kristyne
