Lenten Study – Saturday, March 18

Each morning in my classroom, we listen to the morning announcements.  We say the pledge, and then there is a moment of silence.  I don’t know if my students pray, but I sure do.  At the start of the year, I prayed for the children; now, I pray for myself.  Each morning I pray that the words I speak to the children that day will be kind and caring and will guide them in a positive direction.  I changed my prayer because, believe it or not, some of those sweet little babies were wearing on my nerves, and I had found myself having a little edge in my voice that I did not care for at all.  The daily prayer has made all the difference.

In today’s passage, Jesus talks about the things that defile you, pointing out that these things come from within us, from our hearts.  We are bound to fail; we are bound to have days when we miss the mark and things that are not of God come out of us.  However, with Jesus, we can turn these days around; we can change the things that come from our hearts.  Small changes, like starting with a prayer and taking a deep breath, can make all the difference.

Mark 7:1-23

The Way of Peace Prayer: Jesus, I choose to follow your Way of Peace.  Lead me to one person that I can love, give hope, and bring your peace today.

Blessings – Kristyne

I look forward to this Bible study everyday. I read from Jesus Calling as well. It seems that the verses from Jesus Calling coincides with what we are study. Thank you for doing this. May God bless you and those cute children you teach. 🙏 ❤️

  2. Your Bible study has made me more at peace with myself. Realizing that I don’t have to be perfect , I can’t be perfect because only God is perfect. I have the ability to pass on the good things to others by my actions and I am a very kind person. But I have a herd time with believing that is enough for God. I know I have a good heart, I just have to continue to be at peace with myself and believe that God will always live me.
