Hello again. Here we are still in Corinthians and Paul is still dealing with issues in the church in Corinth. Thank God we are nothing like the church in Corinth!!! Oh, wait… can we be that sure? Can we be that confident? One of the things that I did was to read this chapter in a different translation, “The Message.” This translation was done by Eugene Peters, a pastor and a scholar who passed away in 2018. Peterson’s main objective was to bring scripture to a more modern English language. It really makes it more real and easier to understand. And this is what I covered reading in this modern translation, the church today is no different than the church in Corinth. We struggle with our own set of idols and cultural issues (division, separation, greed, anger to name a few.) That’s why in vs. 12 Paul says, “You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence.”(The Message) Ouch Paul, that hurts! You mean I could fall flat on my face? That’s right any of us could. The answer is to Cultivate God-confidence. Furthermore, Paul says, “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (NLT.) These are simple words to live by: whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God! Friends go out there and live for God’s glory!

- What do you think are the obstacles that prevent us from living for God’s glory in our world today?
So What Activity:
Write a short prayer in a journal or any piece of paper just asking God to help you to live for his glory. Sign and date it. Lord have mercy! God have mercy!
