Today’s chapter is one of my favorites; I love how Paul uses the human body to help us understand Spiritual Gifts. He uses the body not just to help us understand Spiritual Gifts but how vital every gift is and that diversity in the Body of Christ is essential. I love how he says…
18 But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part where he wants it. 19 How strange a body would be if it had only one part! 20 Yes, there are many parts, but only one body.21 The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.”
So simple, but so profound. We need a wide range of body parts within our bodies to live, and we need a wide range of gifts in the Body of Christ to do the work of God. Take a moment to read the scripture for today, and then I will see you in the video.
So What Activity: Go out for a walk and think about how many parts of the body it takes for you to take that walk. Think about the parts of the body that are seen and unseen. As you walk, think about all the work the church does, inside and outside the walls. Think about how many people it takes to partner with God. What gifts do you have? How can you use them?
Blessings,
