Read Deuteronomy 31:6
This little bit of scripture is from a pivotal time in the life of Isreal. Moses was getting ready to hand over leadership and have Joshua lead the people into the Promised Land. This is a very appropriate time for Moses to give the people this bit of wisdom. As they move into this new land, without the leader who has been with them for 40 years, they need to know that God still goes ahead of them.
Moses says, “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid, and do not panic before them. For the Lord, your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
We have many moments in our lives when we are walking into the unknown. Many times, we feel alone, as if everyone has abandoned us. We have many moments that feel like the entire world is changing around us. In these times, we must remember that we do not walk alone. We are not abandoned by everyone. The world may be changing, but we follow a changeless God.
Be strong and courageous, do not panic. Take a deep breath and move forward.
Questions:
- When have you felt like you were walking alone?
- How does knowing that God “personally” goes before you help you take one step at a time?
Blessings,
Kristyne
