Lenten Study – Saturday, April 1

Mark 13

When I was a young child, I kept quite a messy bedroom.  Sometimes my mother would get fed up with it and send me to my room to clean up.  Almost 100% of the time, when I got to my bedroom, I would goof off.  I would not clean; I would play with my toys.  I would lay on the bed.  I would do anything to keep from having to clean the room.  My mother would yell that she would be coming up in 30 minutes to check my progress, and that just gave me more cause not to work.  I would be like; I don’t need to hurry; I know precisely when she is coming.  I can wait at least 25 minutes, then in the last 5 minutes, shove all this stuff under my bed.  However, every once and a while, she would so up way before the 30 minutes, and I would be caught not working.

We have no way of knowing when Jesus is coming back, but don’t we want to be ready when he does, instead of being like I was as a child and goofing off?  What can you do today to live your life as Jesus would have you live it?

The Way of Peace Prayer: Jesus, I choose to follow your Way of Peace.  Lead me to one person that I can love, give hope, and bring your peace today.

Blessings – Kristyne
