Here are a few notes about my video for today:
- It is Wednesday.
- Pastor Loida is not up tomorrow; it will be me again.
- Junior was at the foot of the camera chewing on a bit of bamboo. Sorry for the noise.

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.”
When our house here in Georgia was our vacation home, I would always talk a good talk about staying a few days after everyone left to rest and relax. However, I have a I have a great fear of the dark. The one time I did plan on staying a few extra days did not go well. I was so terrified all night that by morning, I had packed my bags and hit the road.
When we discussed moving here full-time, Toby asked how I would do it all alone in the house, especially at night. For the first year or so he would be spending ½ of his time in Florida and ½ here. I told him I would just be able to do it. But that was not the whole truth, I had decided I would not be afraid because I knew God was with me.
Nights were okay, locked safely in my house. However, as summer turned to fall and the days got shorter, I had to face the dark. Each morning, I would have to walk to my car parked by the lake. At this time, we had no outdoor lighting. It was just me and my iPhone flashlight. As I stepped out the door, I would start praying to help me be brave and not freak out in the darkness, and most days, it worked. On the days it didn’t work, it was because I let my imagination override my prayers. The key is always to keep our eyes on the Good Shepherd.
When is a time that the Good Shepherd walked with you?
Blessings: Kristyne
