Read Psalm 27

What battles are you fighting in your life?  Some of the things we battle today include but are not limited to the following.

  1. Depression
  2. Anxiety
  3. Fear
  4. Stress
  5. Self-Doubt
  6. Cancer
  7. Loss
  8. Slander

These are huge things that we battle.  We are reminded in the Psalm that we are surrounded by a great army to help us fight our battles.  In our lives, we will have many battles.  Sometimes, we think that belief in God and our faith will not keep us from having battles.  However, all you have to do is read a bit of the Bible to see that ALL people have battles, those full of faith and those with little to no faith.  Our lives will be filled with good days and bad days.  However, faith does help us navigate our battles.

Our faith flourishes when we foster a relationship with God.  We gain knowledge about God through scripture, but our understanding deepens through our prayer life. Communication is the cornerstone of any relationship.  I find verse 9 of today’s Psalm particularly profound; it says, “My heart has heard you say, ‘Come and talk with me.’ And my heart responds, ‘LORD, I am coming.’”  I firmly believe that conversing with God is crucial.  Our prayer lives shape our responses to the battles we face.  How is your prayer life? In what ways can you delve deeper into prayer?

So What:  Set a goal to increase your prayer time with God.

Blessings: Kristyne
