I love to sing, even though I don’t have a great voice. That is why sometimes I love to sing in the choir. In a group setting, my voice is disguised somewhat and hidden by other beautiful voices. The truth is that I love the psalms that encourage us to praise God. Psalm 33 encourages us to praise God with instruments and with a new song. The psalmist lists all the things we can praise God for. One of the things we praise God is for his creation. Yesterday I was working in my (Jim’s) home office and I looked out the window and a pair of sand hill cranes had decided to make my front lawn their afternoon resting place. I observed and watched them for a while, (see below.) God gave me that time to praise him, for such beautiful birds right there in my front lawn. Today, take time to observe the wonders God places right in front of us. When we pay attention, we might be amazed of God’s small gifts to us. Go ahead, sing a new song to God today!
Prayer: Lord God, today I join with the psalmist in praising you. You are God our creator. You have made a beautiful world for us. Teach us to care for this world of ours. Thank you for the people you place near us, may we be a blessing to us. If we have pets, we thank you for our pets, for the love and comfort they provide. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
Blessings,
Loida
