Psalm 72 sets a high bar for our leaders. It is an image of how the Kingdom of God looks. It is the mark we all strive for in our lives. God calls us to act justly and live righteously. These are big words, but when you read the Psalm, you see what it looks like to have a world ruled this way.
The prayer of the Psalm is that our leaders would lead in a just and righteous way. Throughout history, we have had various degrees of success with this. However, as I said in the video, the Psalm foreshadows the one and only King who will rule in this way, Jesus. However, that should not stop us from trying each and every day to live this way. Please take a moment to watch the video below and consider what it means to love justice and walk righteously.
