Summer Study – Day 22

July 2, 2024

Read Psalm 73

Ugh, envy.  Who has not struggled with this?  It is so easy to look at the things that everyone else has and to be full of envy.  I think this is especially difficult during this age of humanity.  Never before have we had so much information at our fingertips.  I can go onto my phone and see into people’s homes, I can follow them on their amazing vacations, I can see the things that they have.  Just today, I went online and googled “sewing rooms.”  I was instantly presented with all sorts of beautiful sewing rooms with lovely furniture.  And I instantly wanted it all.

Sometimes the things of the world take over so easily.  Maybe it is time to fast from social media for a season.  Or put some time restrictions on your web browsing habits.  None of these early things is where we find our joy.  Let us be like the Psalmist and desire God more than anything on earth.

So What: What are you grateful for today?  Set a goal to find 10 things you are grateful for each day for 10 days.

Blessings: Kristyne

Bonus Video:  This is the song I was listening to in my car today.

Oh my goodness! That Psalm so hit home! I look at my friends homes and think, Oh I wish I had a pool or a bigger lanai and envy them. Or they get to travel to all these exotic places. That is so foolish. I will think of the things that I am grateful for. Like my children and grandchildren. They are a source of love and light. Thank you for sharing this Psalm. Love and Blessings, Gayle

I forgot to listen to the music that accompanied the Psalms. It was so moving. It was wonderful to see a room full of young people loving our God. It was a beautiful sight. And I loved Natalie Grants message. I am passing this on to my granddaughter. She is so full of anxiety. Thank you again. And I am so grateful for my church who truly loves us.

  4. Gratitude is my absolute favorite hymn. I saw it for the first time on The Voice. I hope to see it performed in person someday….either at a church service or a concert.
